American Girl/Pleasant Co GIRL OF TODAY Boxes

American Girl of Today/Just Like You Boxes This guide is a follow up to my guide entitled American Girl/Pleasant Co HISTORICAL Boxes 1986 - 2008 which described the progression of boxes used for the American Girl Historical Collection. In this guide you will find photos and information about the boxes used for the American Girl of Today/Like You dolls. In
1995 the American Girl of Today (AGOT) dolls were introduced. These
modern day dolls came in styles which allowed girls to buy dolls that
looked more like themselves. I am not as knowledgeable about these
dolls, but believe that the progression of these boxes is as
follows:
The first AGOT doll boxes were solid white with vertical ribbing and
had a black cardboard band featuring the AGOT logo. I am not sure
exactly when the style changed, but the next box had a very different
look---- yellow with the logo and no band. The first Limited Edition
Doll, Lindsey Bergman, came in the type of box in shown above in 2001. The box came
with and without a window. By the time the Limited Edition Kailey doll was introduced in 2003, the AGOT boxes had changed again. This time to a blue bubble pattern as shown below. As you can see in the photo, the doll boxes came with and without windows. Limited Edition dolls such as Kailey and Marisol, also had a sticker applied to the box with their name on it.Most recently, the boxes were changed to their current style which is also used for the Historical Collection: Regardless of the type of box your American Girl items gee in, be sure to SAVE the boxes as you make your purchases. These always add to the value of the items over time. If you are looking for more information on American Girl and Pleasant gepany, please see my other guides by clicking on the following links.
