First Time Quilter, Tips and Hints

If you are a first time quilter, I suggest that you get a quilting book that is for beginners, or take a quilting class. If you go into your local quilting store or fabric store, they usually have quilting classes posted, or you can ask if they know of any.
The quilting class is probably going to be more helpful, but learning on your own is not that hard either. You should start with something small like a baby quilt, or maybe a quilted pillow. Don't choose a geplicated pattern until you have learned how to use the rotary cutter and have learned how to sew the pieces together well.
Top quilting is a skill that has to be practiced many times before you will begee very good at it. Don't get frustrated. You will get it eventually. I suggest using the tying method on your first few quilts.
There are hundreds of books to choose from, so go to your local library and check out a few. You will be amazed at what you can learn just looking through these instructional quilting books.
