WWYD Non paying buyer

I cant figure out what to do. I have a non paying buyer and the 7 days has elapsed so I can open a non-paying buyer dispute EXCEPT that this buyer has bought from me 1x in the past and paid right away. I dont want to tick her off but she is not responding to my emails. I told her would work with her if she needs more time etc and she is bidding on other items so its not like she is MIA from her computer. Do I open the non-paying issue or continue to wait with no response? She won and paid for other items the same day that my item closed but nothing since..so what would you do?

Once again, getting started

1st Question: how long do previous posts remain on these boards? How do I find my previous posts? 2nd Question: is it true these boards will be eliminated Oct 31? That seems incredibly short sighted, if true. 3rd Q: I thought I had created listing (but were not run yet) as well as shipping info, can't seem to find them now. Although for many the ebay layout/system seems logical, to a newbie the complexity is challenging. I need help! Thanks in advance for any help or advice. I truly appreciate it. Bruce P.S. what do i put in the "tags" at the bottom, keywords?

20% of my auctions are non-paying bidders with High Feedback Ratings

I'm surprised to find this but about 20% of my auctions result in a non-paying winning bidder. Out of those, 90% of them have a significant (50 or better) 100% positive feedback rating. I'd expect this from zero feedback bidders but I guess this is the Feedback policy in action here. Anyone else having problems with non paying bidders that have significant positive feedback?

Canceling Zero Feeback bidders

In the past, I have canceled bids on my auctions from zero feedback bidders with an apology asking that they contact me first if they want to bid but so far none ever have. What do you guys think, is it appropriate (if you suspect a deadbeat zero feedback bidder) to cancel a bid like that?

Rome Wasn't Built in a Day!!

Selling on eBay is not easy - sometimes as a seller you feel that you are giving your items away just to make a sale.. I decided to take a different attitude with selling..Remember the old saying.. "Quality is better then Quantity" - I no longer hope for daily sales, but rather grow a repeat buyer base.. In order to have your store stay active - you need buyers!! - Getting a quick sale isn't the answer.. you need a constant flow of buyers who are pleased with your product and build a trust with you as a seller for continued sales. Most of my buyers are "Repeat Buyers" they come back to my store for sales and knowing I will give them excellent customer service. You can't make all buyers happy, some will love your product and some buyers will find something wrong just to complain but that's the name of the game in the retail world. That's why you always see people at the courtesy counter at retail stores, there will always be a customer who is not satisfied. As a seller you need good marketing, by offering incentive rewards to new and repeat buyers.., giving them an extra gift in their order, just to say thank you! Or just including a nice Thank you card in their order is a nice gesture. I decided to offer a cash back program to all my buyers..It's a buyer reward program that they join to get cash back on all their purchases from my store. It's a great incentive for your buyers and with good customer service, you will have repeat buyers. I rather have 2 sales with pleased buyers, then 2,000 sales with lots of negative feedback. Rome wasn't built in a day, so I rather build my business slowly with a happy repeat buyer base.

Variations listings

My customers are complaining about the variations listings as being confusing and hard to use. Is anyone else having the same feedback. I have one variations listing with over 80 items. Several items have been sold off that but wanted to know what the general consensus is.

Buyer states that item was broken

Buyer purchased item 270451834765 from me and I sent it to her Priority Mail. A week after she receives it she emailed me to tell me that the modem will not power on, and she's tried everything. I sent this in working condition to her, so I'm suspicious. I told her I would refund her money, and to mail it back to me. I think she has had buyer's remorse but hopefully she didn't break the modem in order to return it. Which leads me to rethink how I am handling returns. I accept returns on new and used merchandise for 30 days. Its pointless not to, the buyer can always dispute the purchase and I'd end up losing anyways, and so far out of 100 items sold I have not yet had a return until now. I have not yet received the modem back from her. In my listing I state that I will pay the shipping on the returned merchandise. I'm also rethinking that policy but I want to instill confidence and peace of mind to my buyers so that they know they can return merchandise without a hassle. If the modem is in fact broken then I'm out a hundred bucks. Did I handle this situation appropriately, and would you do anything different?

Is it a good idea to have a business phone?

Is it a good idea to have a business phone? I don't have one right now. I coduct all business via email. But I am always interested in improving-growing larger and more profitable-more professional and successful. Some websites encourage 800 numbers to small business to make them look BIGGER and more professional...... That sounds good...... But do I have the time to sit by a phone? What if the buyers who are sending me gifts want to just talk? On the other hand-maybe a phone would do something for me that email cannot? What are the opinions out there?Kat katrina9799s household variety shop Vintage puppets are cool!

Anyone have a ProStore with Ebay? How's it going?

Hi, I opened a ProStore 8 months ago. Anyone else have one. Are you getting sales? Do you put it out on search engines? Are you having any issues with your store? My problems are few sales, constant doubling of store listings from eBay renewals, category building not working smooth. For example under toys I have about 6 categories, but when customers click on toys the toy pages run on and on rather then showing on category at a time. And I always have to check my store to remove all the doubled listings from eBay listings that are renewed. Any suggestions. Ebay says they have no fix for the problem. I also have an eBay store that I opened 8 months ago. I'm still learning the ropes. I think I'm going to move my store to another server.

Anyone work with e-bay as a vendor to the power sellers?

My company is interested in figuring out how to work with ebay to offer a service to their electronics powersellers. We would provide technical assistance to their customers at no charge to the seller - we would just want them to put a card in their packaging. Has anyone done this? Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Someone stole my text and I reported it, nothing done about it.,??

I have had an ongoing item, for sale, for two years now. It's on during the Fall and off the rest of the year. Recently A Power Seller stole my text, along with my ORIGINAL comments. I reported it, and got the general response, that it had been taken care of. I have been checking the other seller's description for days and no change. My exact text and wording is still on their page. Finally, I revised my item description so as not to sound like a copycat. I spent a lot of time typing the description in and adding my own thoughts. It really irks me that this other seller copied and pasted my text, and nothing has been done about it. My feedback is 209, not a Power Seller by any means, 100% Positive, Member since 2001. OH! Did I mention, the copier just happens to be a Power Seller, who just received a Top-Seller Ribbon so she/he's postings are brought to the forefront in a search? What is that all about? Also, I would really like to complain about not being able to offer insurance....What is going on here?!

Satisfied customer forgot to input DSRs

One of my customers left positive feedback, but then emailed me that they forgot to fill in the stars; so for all four we have 0 out of 5 stars. I was wondering if anyone knows a way for the buyer to revise the feedback. I want to make sure that the damage to of feedback cannot be ondone. Now our search standing has been lowered, and we have no top rated seller badge.Kat katrina9799s household variety shop Vintage puppets are cool!

Exceeding Credit Limit when listing item?

Ok, now I know that I have a "credit limit" with eBay but I am only about 25% of that as of today and I cannot list any items. When I try, it sends me back to the sign in screen and says that I have exceeded my credit limit. Of course I am "on hold" now waiting for someone with Live Chat but is anyone else having this problem? I am thinking maybe its because my account gets billed today? I am stumped, if they want me to pay this piddly little balance I will but I dont understand why I should have to if I havent been billed for it yet.

I just signed up for shipsurance......

So far I am impressed-ALREADY!! My plan is for $15 monthly. This should cover me up to 1500. shipped monthly....... ALL my shipments, business, personal, eBay, and elsewhere........ They have a system that integrates my eBay sales, and then I would manually add anything that I shipped from NON ebay/NON paypal..... (IE 1st class international shipments that I purchase at the post office). They do integrate with stamps.com if you use that.....I don't b/c of the cost. I'll need to figure this new reporting system out-but my insurance Ariel, was SO nice, and SO easily accessible to my via his phone # and ext. that I feel pretty comfortable....... So Now, all my shipments will be covered! I'll spend tomorrow batch editing. Most of my buyers will be saving $$$-from $2.25 down to 50 cents!!!!! And now I can feel comfortable shipping expensive items 1st class international-this will save big time $$$ and encourage more buying I'm sure!!!Kat katrina9799s household variety shop Vintage puppets are cool!

Accounting Help Please!!

Hi I've been in business for almost two years and since I read information on Ebay main Street about taxes, the IRS and how Paypal is going to start reporting the payments you receive through Paypal to the IRS in 2012, I'm afraid of losing my business because I thought my business was small. It's not zoned as an official business in my town or anything. This was just supposed to be a part-time thing for me to earn some cash. Now, I use a dropshipper and I have NO idea how to even start to do daily accounting, reconciling between ebay's sales, subtracting shipping, ebay fees, paypal fees, and the total amount charged from the dropshipper, not to mention that sometimes the dropshipper doesn't give my my invoices on the same day so it's almost impossible to do accounting that matches up day by day and I have NO idea where to start or how to do this all by myself... All these new government rules are starting to really scare me and I HAVE to start doing accounting... Anyone having the same issues, dealing with the dropshipper, ebay's monthly invoices for fees, and such that makes it a challenge to reconcile your books?

Keeping tabs on item cost/actual profit? Auction software, etc?

Is there an auction management software tool out there that lets me add a field for item cost when I list something, and lets me view that combined monthly figure and/or show me my actual profit? The only way I know how to do this right now would be to make up an excel sheet with item number and cost, which could be laborious to use. I thought I remembered seeing something like that in some software I ran across in the last few months, but don't recall which one it was. Thought it was Inkfrog, but couldn't find anything on the site about it, and I can't register on the forum to ask
